On this day in 1967 the Six Day War between Israel and Egypt/Syria and Jordan. Israel won a decisive land battle and took control of Arab territories many times the size of Israel itself-taking the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt,  the Golan Heights from Syria and the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan.
