large turning point in the war in the pacific. if the imperial navy does not take the damage here that they did, the pacific may have been much longer in duration.
i read from military history book that the fires were so hot on the japanese carriers that even though the bulkheads were sealed the paint on the opposite side of the bulkheads would ignite.
You mentioned the movie “Midway” last week- I agree a movie like that would never be made today- you’d never get that many stars together on one film. I haven’t seen it in years..got to catch it soon.
