On this date in 1886 President Grover Cleveland married Frances Folsom in the White House. Cleveland is the only president to get married in the White House. He was 49 at the time, Folsom was 21. From what I have read the public took no exception to this.Folsom was the daughter of Cleveland’s friend Oscar Folsom. The Cleveland’s would have 5ive children-one a daughter named Ruth= is who the Baby Ruth candy bar is named after[my favorite candy bar by the way}
