The Beatles Song Of The Day is “With A Little Help From My Friends.” John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote this song at Paul’s house on March 29th,1967. What is odd about this is Beatles biographer Hunter Davies watched them as they worked on the song. This was a song they wrote with Ringo in mind and it would turn out along with “Yellow Submarine” to be one of the two most famous Beatles songs that were sung by Ringo Starr. After an afternoon of working on the song John and Paul were ready to present it to Ringo during the recording session in the studio. It took ten takes in the recording studio to get the song down. Originally the song was known as “Bad Finger Boogie” because John had an injuried finger at the time. Later the word Badfinger would be used for a band that The Beatles Apple Records would sign and record. When Richie Havens played the song in concert in 1968 he introduced it as ” I’d like to sing my favourite song in the whole universe.” John Lennon: backing vocal and cowbell/ Paul McCartney: backing vocal, piano and bass guitar/ George Harrison: lead guitar/ Ringo Starr: vocal, drums and tambourine/ George Martin: Hammond organ. The song was recorded on March 29th and 30th,1967 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin.
