The Beatles Song Of The Day is “Drive My Car.” “Drive My Car” is on The Beatles “Rubber Soul” album. “Rubber Soul” is my second favourite Beatles album behind “Revolver” which was their next album after “Rubber Soul.” “Drive My Car” was written by both Paul McCartney and John Lennon with Paul having written the majority of it. Paul remembers the writing of it as something he got stuck on and at the last minute John came in and helped shape the lyric. Paul had it as ” I can give you golden rings, I can give you anything, Baby I love you.” John declared that was crap and they came up with “Baby you can drive my car” and added the ‘Beep been an’ beep beep yeah” to it. Paul viewed this as a comedy number. John Lennon: vocal/ Paul McCartney: vocal, bass guitar and piano/ George Harrison: harmony vocal and lead guitars/ Ringo Starr: drums, cowbell and tambourine. The song was recorded on October 13th, 1965 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin.
