The Beatles Song Of The Day is “Eight Days A Week.” “Eight Days A Week” was on The Beatles “Beatles For Sale” album. It was a number one hit single in the United States in February 1965. Paul and John wrote “Eight Days A Week” together with Paul writing the majority of it. The idea for the title came from a substitute chauffeur who was taking Paul to John’s house. When Paul asked him if he was busy the chauffeur replied ‘ Busy? I’ve been working eight days a week.” When he said it- there was the idea for the song. John didn’t think much of the song. In 1980 he said “Eight Days A Week” was never a good song. We struggled to record it and struggled to make it into a song. It was Paul’s initial effort but I think we both worked on it. I’m not sure. But it was lousy anyway.” I disagree I think it was a great song full of excitement and optimism. John Lennon: vocal, acoustic rhythm guitar and handclaps/ Paul McCartney: vocal, bass guitar and handclaps/ George Harrison: vocal, lead guitar and handclaps/ Ringo Starr: drums and handclaps. The song was recorded on October 6th and 18th, 1964 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin.
