100 GREAT SONGS FROM THE BRITISH INVASION: ‘ I’M NOT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE’- THE KINKS

Slike: Im Not Like Everybody Else Song Sopranos

100 Great Songs From The British Invasion: 1963-1966. I’m Not Like Everybody Else’- The Kinks. From the 1965 album Kinks Kontroversy- ‘I’m Not Like Everybody Else’ was the b-side to ‘Sunny Afternoon.’ Ray Davies had written the song for The Animals- but they turned it down- I can hear The Animals doing this- a mistake they turned down Ray’s gift. After The Animals turned it down- The Kinks decided to release it themselves- with Ray Davies on lead vocals. A version of the song would be played during the end credits of one of the episodes of The Sopranos.

  1. I’m Not Like Everybody Else – specifically the slightly more beefy / brooding version from US-only version of To The Bone – might well be my favourite Kinks song
