While I am not a fan of Cherilyn Sarkasian- I will give her credit- this- one of her signature songs is a good one. As a solo artist she had 33 Hot 100 singles- 22 making the Top 40. Four #1’s- this one, “Half Breed” 1973, “Dark Lady” 1974 and after 24 years her final one ‘Believe’ in 1998.

    • same here- i always liked Sonny- Cher- not so much- but I give her credit as you stated she knows how to reinvent herself- and sell herself-

    • i remember after Sonny’s death she was boo-hooing it up– in life it seems like she was pretty nasty in her comments concerning him…

    • I don’t know if the Sonny and Cher Show was before your time or not Max- can’t recall when it ended but she was always nasty to him on the show- which I always took as part of the act– but I think there was something to the meanness even then.

    • It’s one of the first shows I ever remember watching. It was probably around 73-74. Yes I do remember he was the butt of the jokes…and when they were divorced.

  1. It’s a good one, and these days a politically incorrect one! I like it though. I like some of Cher’s music, especially older ones like these without auto-tuners, and some of her movies. She has a lot of talent and seemed to set the playbook for Madonna on staying relevant for decades.
