DEEP TRACKS FROM 1971: ‘[YOU CAUGHT ME ] SMILIN’- SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE

Sly & The Family Stone – Smilin' (1972, 4-prong center, Vinyl) - Discogs

Deep Tracks From 1971: ‘[You Caught Me]Smilin’- Sly and The Family Stone. The third single from what is generally considered Sly And The Family Stone’s greatest album- There’s A Riot Goin’ On- the first single Family Affair went to #1- the second “Runnin’ Away” peaked at #23, ‘Smilin’ just failed to crack the Top 40- peaking at #42. ‘Smilin’ is a hymn to getting high- something Sly was doing way too much of- and his music and life would soon suffer from the drug addiction.
