#170:’ Baby It’s You”- from Please Please Me. One of the covers on The Beatles debut album- it was first recorded by The Shirelles in 1961. The Beatles had the song as part of their stage act from 1961-63. The song was written by Burt Bacharach with Mack David and Barney Williams writing the lyrics. John sings the song for this version by The Beatles. Released as a single in 1995 it went to #7 on the UK Singles Chart.

#169: ‘Don’t Bother Me’- from With The Beatles. This was the first song that George Harrison wrote. The Beatles were touring in England in the summer of 1963 and George was sick in a hotel bed in Bournemouth, England when he wrote the song. He had nothing to do and it was an exercise he undertook to see if he could write a song. Turns out he could. He would improve over the years and by the end of The Beatles just six years later he was holding his own against John Lennon and Paul McCartney. George didn’t think much of the song but I don’t think its a bad first effort.
