This lame version of “Da Doo Ron Ron” not to be confused with The Crystals #3 hit from 1963. Another Phil Spector classic. Shaun Cassidy was another of those manufactured teen idols with little talent. He had a television show The Hardy Boys- never saw it but I remember my sister watching it. The half brother of David Cassidy- Shaun didn’t have half the talent. After a short string of hits- 3 Top 10 hits- he was deposited into the trash heap never to be heard from again. His chart singles go in an interesting order -#1, #3, #7, #31 #80 and then into oblivion. It only took a little over a year. He’s 62 now- I can’t having seen him since well the late 70’s. Update he’s been married three times and has eight children- so I guess he has been busy.
I had such a crush on him when I was 15, though …
So did my sister… I think I have her single in my collection. Obviously I am someone who doesn’t throw anything away.
Also, he’s done a lot of work in film and TV from behind the camera, both directing and producing.
Glad to see he’s had success– and not a rocky road like Lief Garrett has had.
Yeah, Garrett’s story is definitely a sad one.
Never cared for teen idols- but certainly do not wish them ill… not even One Direction…
From the album ‘So you thought DAVID Cassidy was over-rated Did Ya?’ I believe.
It was a great song when I was a kid.
Sent email.
His mother is Shirley Jones, who was so beautiful in her youth.
She’s still living I believe or did I miss something?
She is. It’s just that, sadly, at the age of 86, she’s no longer the beauty she once was.
It would have been much sadder had she died at say half that age.
One of many “poster” boys my sister had on her wall.
