The Beatles Top 60 Solo Songs: #27: ” Blow Away”- George Harrison. “Blow Away” was the hit single from George’s George Harrison album in 1979. It peaked at #16 in the Billboard Hot 100. The song was inspired by a leaking roof at his Friar Park mansion. It kind of makes me think of my favorite Beatles George song- “Here Comes The Sun” in its optimism. I’ve always liked that album by the way- I think it is one of George’s more overlooked albums.
I always loved that tune. It’s got that beautiful signature George Harrison slide guitar tone. Plus, it’s quite catchy.

A great one which is vastly overlooked.
