This was the first of six #1 solo hits for Diana Ross- after she left The Supremes. Born Diane Ross in Detroit in 1944. She had 44 Hot 100 singles with 27 making the Top 40 between 1970-86.
I don’ t think she ever matched her work with Supremes when by herself but this wasn’ t far off.
I like much of her solo work but, this one has been played to death. Gimme some Muscles…
While not a fan- she did have some good radio listening songs. I try to put aside the stuff I’ve heard about her-and separate it from the music.
I try really hard to do that with many, MANY musicians. I get to enjoy their product and I don’t have to deal with them on a personal level.
There are some who are favorites of mine- that I wouldn’t want to ever meet in person.
I hear ya’.
