30 Day Song Challenge: Day 12: A Song You Feel Embarrassed Listening To: “MMMBOP”- Hanson. Has it really been 23 years now since these brothers from Tulsa, Oklahoma had released “MMMBop” which took over the charts all over the world? I looked it up the three brothers are now between the ages of 34-39. They have only had 2 other hit singles the last being in 2000. They are still around releasing albums. I don’t think I’ve heard another song from them other than “MMMBop”- but I have to admit it was a pretty catchy song and it is kind of embarrassing to say I do like it. I even have it on one of my IPODS.
It’s heartening to see that you’re not a total music snob after all Hans! Like I said in an earlier post, we all have a guilty pleasure or two that we’re embarrassed to admit to others. Some of my biggest are Theme From ‘A Summer Place”, Sugar, Sugar, and Foolish Beat from Debbie Gibson.

I usually hear this on the radio at least once whenever I’m near Tulsa (their hometown). I gladly enjoy listening to it.
I once predicted that these guys would actually become serious and revered musicians… but I guess it’s not the first (or last) time I’ve been wrong.

It was catchy. Takes me back but no I didn’t buy it. I still have some embarrassing singles I bought back in the seventies though.
