Three Dog Night- a pop-rock trio was formed in Los Angeles. The members were Danny Hutton, Cory Wells and Chuck Negron. They had 4 Top 40 and 3 Top 10 hits in 1969- and the hits would continue in 1970- with “Celebrate” being the first of 4 hits that year. From 1969-75 they had an impressive run of pop hits- all 21 of their Hot 100 singles made the Top 40. They had 3 #1’s- “Mama Told Me {Not To Come} 1970, “Joy To The World” 1971 and “Black & White” 1972. The group was named for the coldest night in the Australian outback. They disbanded in the mid 70’s- re-formed in the mid 80’s but without any chart success.
I got this song inside of a birthday card.
Pretty good song. Three Dog Night one of those bands- which I can’t say any of their songs are on my list of songs I search out to hear- but about every hit they had were worth listening to if they came on the radio.
