Songs I like- by Artists I Don’t- “Don’t Stop Belevin’-Journey. Blame The Sopranos- Tony Soprano was possibly the greatest character in the history of television but his taste in music at times was kind of questionable. In the final moments of the final episode of series- as Tony and his family gathered at a restaurant and Tony played- Don’t Stop Believin’ on the jukebox. . At first former Journey singer Steve Perry was reluctant to let the song go on The Sopranos- but he certainly make the right call. Journey had a total of seventeen Top 40 hits from the late 70’s to the mid-80’s and they were all over the radio at the time. I heard them all. The only one that I kind of liked was Don’t Stop Believin’- which went to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981. It originally wasn’t a hit in the UK but was re-released in 2009 there and went up to #6. Thanks I believe to The Sopranos- the song is the best selling digital 20th century track. Mike DeGagne as allmusic has called Don’t Stop Believin’- the perfect rock song. I don’t know if I would go that far but I will admit it is a great tune.
