- THE BEATLES: SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND: 1967: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The most famous album ever. As far as closers go- A Day In The Life is the greatest finisher on any Beatles album.
- ELVIS COSTELLO: SECRET, PERFUME AND SUGARCANE: 2009: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: After the spontaneous rock and roll of Momofuku- this album is much quieter- an Americana- country music affair. A good songwriters album backed by a strong band- recorded in Nashville with T-Bone Burnett producing. Did well on the American charts also- #13 on the album chart.
- ELVIS COSTELLO: NATIONAL RANDOM: 2010: 4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: National Random would be Elvis’s last solo studio album until last year. At the time he said it would be his final album. Glad he changed his mind. The album is like Secret, Perfume and Sugarcane in style- a roots-rock- Americana album once again produced by T-Bone Burnett and with an all-star cast of musicians backing him up.
- THE BEATLES: MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR: 1967: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: All You Need Is Love- a great song- I rank as the 4th out of 12 Beatles closers.
also listened to the American Top 40 replay from February 22, 1975 and went to Dwight Yoakam concert.
