The Beatles Song Of The Day :”Little Child”

slicethelife

The Beatles Song of the Day is “Little Child.” “Little Child” is one side 1, track 4 of “With The Beatles.” “Little Child” was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. It was just a knock off song.Paul has called it ‘an album filler.” It was never part of their live act. It took over twenty takes and three sessions go get it down. The element of this song that has always stuck with me the most is John’s harmonica. John Lennon: vocal, rhythm guitar and harmonica/ Paul McCartney: vocal, bass guitar and piano/ George Harrison: lead guitar/ Ringo Starr: drums. The song was recorded at Abbey Road on September 11th, 12th and October 3rd, 1963. Producer: George Martin.

  1. I agree with you regarding the harmonica. Great stuff but from that era I reckon that Mick Jagger was a better player. Both were not really recognised, however, for their muscianship on that instrument.
