Jim Marshall Runs The Wrong Way- 1964 NFL Game

The Kent State football player running the wrong way after picking up a fumble last night brings back memories of former Minnesota Defensive End Jim Marshall who picked up a fumble in a game against the San Francisco 49ers in 1964 and ran it 60 yards in the wrong direction. A safety for the 49ers.

Jim Marshall was a fine defensive end for the Vikings. He played 19 years and when he retired in 1979 had the all time consecutive games streak at 270.  Marshall had a fine career but seems to be remembered for 2 negative things- running the wrong way and the fact he didn’t play well in Super Bowls {A Viking 1970′s tradition}
